First pictures of the new ARCHIMEDE DeckWatch

Hello,

The development of the new DeckWatch took many months. Now we could assemble a sample watch and we proudly present you the first pictures:

The DeckWatch uses the hand wound movement Eta 6498 in the standard
execution. The TOP version of the movement will also be available.

The steel case has a diameter of 42mm and is 10,5mm thick. The surface is
both polished and fine satin finished. It has a sapphire crystal on top with
A/R coating on both sides. The crown shows the logo of ARCHIMEDE.

The dial is mat silver with black printing. The hands are blue. A black
version of the dial will follow later. The leather straps come in black and
dark brown and have a width of 20mm.

Not all parts of the DeckWatch are finished yet. We expect the first watches
to be ready end of March. The price will be Eur 425.

Beautiful. And quite a coincidence that just seconds before viewing it, I had been looking at a similar Dornbluth regretting that I could not begin to afford it. Certainly I will give the DeckWatch serious consideration for my next purchase.

Hello
Interesting new model. Just some questions:
1- Are all the cases a mixture of polished and brushed, or there will be one case interely polished and other case option interely brushed?
2- Will there be an automatic version of this watch?
3- Is the dial as very light grey as it appears in the pics or is more darker, because to me it looks very light grey - wich I like - but I am not sure.

Thank you and I wish you all the best.

Very nice...

Are the hands heated blue steel or painted?

any idea how much the TOP 6498 version would cost?

the only thing i am not fond of is the strap selection... everything else is a beaut!!!

Thomas: I like this alot... great job!!! kudos the the Ickler team

Great looking watch! And a perfect size too. I have visited this site on occasion but this watch made me join. I have an Archimede 42 pilot auto and really like it, when this watch is available I will have 2 Archimedes in my modest collection. Great job Archimede!

Hello Texugo,

regarding the surface we can make every version as a special manufacture for an extra charge. For the time being we do not plan an automatic version. Maybe this could be an option for a future model. The dial is silver plated, so 'light gray' will be the right description.

And hello incognito,

the hands are not made of blued steel but blue plated. The price for the DeckWatch with the 6498 TOP is Eur 695.

Best regards from Pforzheim

Guys
Well done with this watch. Lots of us look the look. If money was no problem I would go for a dornie, and the Stowa as a second best. With respect you have made a second best at half the price. This watch will sell out. Be prepared for a deluge of orders!

The more my eyes pour over this piece the more i think:

lose the writing for handwound. it is ugly and not required.

develop a logo for archimede. a version of a on its own would free up the dial to be beautiful, or nothing at all like the pilot h which i have and hold right now

I posted a link to these pictures on another forum and the one consistent negative comment there echoed the one complaint listed here: having the word HANDAUFZUG on the display is not very attractive. It is also a very harsh sounding word when pronounced in English. You may want to consider leaving it off of the production models.
